A packed house enjoyed the wacky antics of the Hayward Superhero Rotary Club during a send-up of outgoing Hayward Rotary Club President Francisco Zermeno at the annual demotion dinner June 29. The event was billed as a joint meeting of the superhero club and Hayward Rotary, and everyone in attendance was issued a cape and mask, if not already costumed. Seventy-five Rotarians representing five clubs, family and friends - including children and grandchildren - were kept off-guard by the visiting superheros who shot webs, danced, flexed their muscles, and made wisecracks. The program was designed to roast President Zermeno after his year-long term as president.
